On the 1900 US Census, the only one that would be available for him, shows him living in Dutch Fork, Lexington, SC with parents George 60 and stepmother Martha 48 and siblings Isabella 18 and George 8. On the 1880 US Census, Geo S Ballentine's wife is named Jane. Jane is likely Arthur's mother. Jane died three months after Arthur's birth.

I did not find an obituary in The State.
