Tombstone death year date reads 1909 but correct death year date is 1904

Mrs. W. W. Thayer
Mrs. W.W. Thayer died at the hospital at Mendota of typhoid fever July 2, 1904. Her maiden name was Nettie Bridges and she was born at South Deerfield, Mass., in June, 1843. She married W.W. Thayer in 1860 and a few years afterwards they moved to Chicago where their first child, two years old died. In 1874, they moved to Beloit and thence twenty-five years ago they came to this city. Here in 1894, their son died when 21 years of age. She leaves surviving only the husband, now a resident of Milwaukee, who has the sympathy of his many friends in his bereavement and loneliness.
Mrs. Thayer was a woman of remarkably bright intellect and exceptionally refined manners and by reason of her beautiful character and considerable kindness she had won the friendship of all who had known her.
The remains were brought here for burial, the funeral services being held Tuesday afternoon under the direction of Rev. D. B. Spencer, from the residence of Mrs. O. S. Powell. The members of the Eastern Star contributed beautiful flowers for the funeral, as did many other friends from here and from St. Paul. River Falls Journal 7-7-1904
