He was a foreman for Brown Shoe Co. in Pittsfield, IL for 24 years, before retiring in 1971 when he moved back to Danville. He previously had worked at Musebeck Shoe Co in Danville. He was a member of Pittsfield Masonic Temple Local 790.
Other survivors include a daughter, Mrs Robert {Virginia} Carmichael of Highland Park, IL; two sons, Roy E of Winters, CA and Edwin F of Chatham, IL; his mother of Danville; three brothers, Gene in FL, Marvin and Melvin, both in Danville; two sisters, Mrs Josephine Hamilton of FL and Mrs Cora DeWeese of Danville; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sisters.
