William D. Whelchel Jr. filed this affidavit in 1854;
Affidavit filed with the Federal Government in May of 1854 which states, "I was living with my wife, Keziah and our twelve children, in Cedar County, MO in January 1852 when I moved them to a place called Fayette Arkansas. We lived on a farm there until January 29, 1854 when I moved them back to MO and settled on a farm on Sugar Creek in McDonald County, very near the AR border".
There is no other record of the elder Whelchel's it is assumed that they lived in McDonald Co., for the remander of their lives, William was 67 and Keziah was 70 at the time.
Revolutionary War Pension file R11388 Davis/Nancy Whelchel, refiled by Keziah Whelchel in 1854 in McDonald County, MO, stated she was the only living heir of Davis & Nancy Whelchel. Records do show other siblings alive at the time.
