Passed Away Friday After Few Weeks Illness
Mrs. Catherine Boettler, aged 78 years, passed away at 3:40 o’clock Friday afternoon. Her death resulted from heart trouble and followed an illness of about three weeks duration. The deceased has been a resident of this section for the past twenty three years, and for several years post, had made her home with her son, Louis, seven and a half miles southwest of town.
Funeral services were held at two o’clock Saturday afternoon, from the home, Rev. J. J. Barnes officiating. Interment was made in the Harmony cemetery.
Mr. Byrou and Misses Kate and Carrie Boettler, of Frederick, Okla., and Mrs. Emma Whittaker and son, Forest, of Vinita, Okla., William Boettler, of Shawnee, Okla. and Theadore Boettler, of Colorado, were here and in attendance at the funeral.

Miss Katherine Clinghammer [sic] was born in Strassburg, Germany, January 1, 1839. When at the age of seven years, she came to America with her parents, settling in St. Charles county, Mo., in 1846. She united with the Lutheran church, in 1852 and lived a consistant [sic] christian life throughout her remaining days, days that have been filled with busy toll, administering deeds of love and kindness while journeying through the long life she has lived.
In August 1856 she was married to Lewis [sic] Boettler. To his union were born thirteen children. Two that have preceeded [sic] her. Julius Boettler having died June 3, 1911*, and Charles Boettler, Dec. 31, 1913. Fours sons live in Colorado, one daughter in Canada. Seven children have been at her bedside in this her last illness. She with her companion moved to Livingston county Mo., in 1862, and to Oklahoma in 1893, where they have since resided. On January 8, 1909, her companion departed this life. Since then she has lived at this place with her son, Lewis, ? the home at her death. She leaves eleven children, twenty eight grand-children and one great-grand-child.
This community will share in the great loss to this sorrowing family and feel that a noble life has ended. Her’s was a life which was a pattern and a beautiful pattern. The Holy book was her guide and ? ..word she trusted, thus enabling her to live the grand, yet humble life which she lived.
