Benjamin Franklin Boettler, pioneer rancher of Twentymile park, died suddenly Thursday, November 16, while he was out in the field. He had been ill for several years.

Funeral services were conducted at the Methodist church Saturday afternoon with Rev. G. E. Pennell in charge. Hymns were sung by a quartet, including Lucile West, Marie Turner, Sanford Haile and D. R. Rankin. Mrs Haile was pianist. Pallbears were Frank Squire, Clarence Light, Alva West, R. S. Padgett, Ralph Hudspeth and Otto Neumann. Interment was in the Steamboat Springs cemetery.

There were many beautiful flowers in the church. The attendance was large, relatives and friends coming from all parts of the county.

He is survived by two brothers, Levi, of Steamboat Springs, and William of Shawnee, Okla.; three sisters, Carrie and Kate of Shawnee, Okla., and Mrs. Maude Stephenson of Malones, Calif., and several nieces and nephews.

Ben F. Boettler was born in St. Charles, Mo., October 10, 1860. He came to Colorado in 1882 with his brother, Theodore Boettler, who died here five years ago. They spent three years at Florence, and in 1885 came to Routt county, locating in Yampa. After a year there they moved to Twentymile park, where they both homesteaded land. Ben and Theodore made their home together until the latter died. Recently Ben had been living with his brother, Levi, and family, at their ranch in Twentymile park.

Ben Boettler was an outstanding citizen, industrious, loyal and square and there are many friends to mourn his passing.
