The End Came Last Night After a Long Illness--A Member of a Prominent Family.
After a long illness, Mrs. Margaret B. Pharr died at 10:45 o'clock last night at her home, corner of College and Sixth streets. Mrs. Pharr was Miss Margaret Springs, the youngest and only surviving child in the family of the late William and Margaret Springs-one of the most prominent families in Mecklenburg county.
Mrs. Pharr was born November 12th, 1826, and in 1849 married Rev. Samuel C. Pharr, who died on March 16th, 1886.
Four children survive the deceased: Mr. Walter S. Pharr, who lives on the old homestead four miles east of Charlotte, on the Providence road, and Mr. William L. Pharr, Mrs. Maggie E. Morrison and Miss Cynthia D. Pharr, of this city.
Mrs. Pharr was a devoted member of the Second Presbyterian church of this city and was a woman notable for good works and Christian faith.
The funeral services will be announced later.
