George William Coonce, who has been ill the past year with tuberculousis, passed away at the home of his step-father, Price Lundy, Tuesday, June 29. George was born August 28, 1898, at the home place, where he died, and leaves to mourn his death, a mother, Mrs. Price Lundy; a step-father, Price Lundy; three sisters, Mrs. Joe Beekman, Jennie and Marie Lundy; two brothers, Noah Coonce and Junior Lundy; two grand mothers, Mrs. Mary Jackson and Mrs. Nancy Amos; other relatives and a host of friends. The funeral services were held in the Walker school house, Wednesday afternoon, Rev. Walker, of Mound City, being in charge. Interment was in the old cemetery at Mound City, by the side of his brother, Joe, who died March 28, of the same dreaded disease. The bereaved family have the sympathy of the entire community.
