A most extraordinary elopement occurred at Pacio, Delta County, Texas recently. The couple were Van Brewer, a 15-year old son of John A. Brewer, a farmer and Nina Evans, 13-year old daughter of J. M. Evans, one of the wealthiest men in the county. They were attending the village school, and eloped during the afternoon recess. A grown sister of the groom and a male acquaintance, Tom George, assisted them in getting married. The girl's father was transacting business at Paris at the time and nobody suspected that any attachment existed between them, they being regarded as children.
