THE PARIS NEWS MARCH 3, 1925 – J.M. Evans a well known citizen of Delta County, 75 years old, who had been a resident of the county all his life and who was a retired farmer died at
his home at Charleston last Friday night after an illness of only a few days. He was a member of the Baptist Church and during the long time that he was engaged in farming he acquired a competency leaving his family in comfortable circumstances.

He is survived by a wife, two sons, and four daughters. All of the children were present when he died. Besides his family he leaves two sisters, one of whom is Mrs. Thaine Evans. The funeral was held Sunday afternoon
