Mrs. Louisa Laude, the widow of the late P. J. Laude [sic s/b F. J. Laude] and the mother of James F. Laude, formerly a resident of Castle Grove, in this county, and now living at Greenfield, Iowa, died last Thursday evening, at the
home of her daughter in Laudeville, Dubuque county. Mrs. Laude was born in France, April 14th, 1825, and came to America when nine years old. She had been a resident of Dubuque county for sixty years. She was the mother of thirteen children of whom eight survive. She is also survived by forty grandchildren and thirty-four great-grandchildren. Mrs. Laude was the sister of Mr. George F. LeClere of this city.

F. J. Laude was married Nov. 26, 1842, to Miss Louise LeClere, who, at the age of 6, came with her parents from France to Oswego Co., N.Y.; nine children living- Elise C. (now Mrs. Blank), James F., Rosine S. (now Mrs. Tisserand), Susanne J., Emelie C. (now Mrs. Martin), Eugene P., Henry W., Louise and Ida May; four children deceased- Louise (Mrs. Houser), Alexander and two who died in infancy.
