She was married to James Petit, in Oswego county, New York, who preceded her forty years ago. To this union were born 8 children, 5 of whom are living: Charles of Howard, S.D., Henry of Nisland, S.D., Emma Highley of Holister, Idaho, Joseph of Minnesota, and Ellen at home. She leaves l1 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
She moved to Iowa 30 years ago and the last 20 years of her life was spent in Storm Lake. She united with the Presbyterian church 17 years ago.
The services were held at the home with Rev Ambler officiating and the remains laid to rest in the Storm Lake cemetery.
