He was born in Dell, Arkansas on March 22, 1946, to Scott and Headie (Wilkens) Bradley and married Lacy Bell Bonds in Elkhart on July 11, 1987.

He is survived by his wife and his mother, both of Elkhart; Two sons, Willie James Bradley Jr. and Destephen Brown, both of Elkhart; Four Daughters, Yolanda Garrett of Chicago, Illinois, Sarah Bradley of Blytheville, Arkansas, Mrs. Freddy (W. Janet) Childress of Wilson, Arkansas., and Renea "Bambi" Atkins of Goshen; Four Stepsons, Darlanza, Genaro and Thswjaun Bonds all of Elkhart, and Dashen Bonds of Fort Wayne; 14 grandchildren; one great grandchild; four sisters, Tillye Johnson of South Bend, Ruby (Rev. Nichols) Cossey, Leannell (James) Parker and Rosie (Matt) Washington all of Elkhart; Two brothers, George Bradley Sr. of Elkhart and Andrew Bradley of South Bend.
