She loved her Lord and going to church. She had a wonderful singing voice and loved to sing for everybody. She did her own cooking and loved to make quilts. This wonderful lady will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her.
She was a daughter of the late Nelson and Elizabeth “Liz” Shelton Landers and was preceded in death by her husband: Lola Leroy Yokley; two sisters and a very special brother-in-law: Betty and Clark Gunter and Roberta Mercer; one brother: Rufus “Bud” Landers; a special little great grandson: Anthony Nathaniel Hamilton; a special little niece: Mary Ann Gunter; and a special grandson-in-law: Danny Duncan.
The family received friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday and 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home. The funeral service was held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 27, 2011, at Refuge Baptist Church (formerly Union Chapel), with Rev. Jay Hugh Jennings and Zane Tucker officiating.
Interment followed in Union Chapel Cemetery.
