SERVICES FOR WILSON SHOEMAKER TUESDAY
Wilson Shoemaker, 62, passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Dave Anderson, Saturday morning. Services were held at the Presbyterian Church Tuesday afternoon at 3:15 p.m.
Rev. Peter Jacobs was in charge of the services. Mrs. Janice Franks was soloist with Mrs. Vernon Bengtson, accompanist. Interment was in the Essex Cemetery.
Bearers were Donald Moore, Thomas Moore, Dean Knox, Ellison Bose, Elmer Samuelson, and Henry Weidman.

The funeral services for Wilson Bronto Shoemaker were held Tuesday afternoon. At 3 o'clock there was held a prayer at the W. O. Carson Funeral home and at 3:15 the service was held in the First Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Howard Frans sang two numbers, "No Night There" and "Sometime," with Mrs. Sam Bengtson as accompanist.
Mr. Shoemaker was born in Decatur County, Kansas, March 18, 1880, and was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Hiram (Delia Adelia Bellis) Shoemaker. During the past year he has been making his home with his daughter, Mrs. David Anderson.
He had 4 brothers and one sister. Two of the brothers, Ed and Jacob preceded him in death. The two brothers living are Jess Shoemaker of Nebraska City and George Shoemaker of Essex. HIs sister, Mrs. Maggie Abbott of Nebraska City.
May 2, 1900, he and Iva Florence Hill were married. A daughter, Mrs. Otto Ekman of Winter, Wisconsin, died last April. Other members of the family who are living are his wife; daughter, Stella, Mrs. David Anderson and three sons, Charles of Shenandoah; William of Omaha, and George of Lebanon, Missouri. The family group include 20 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Mr. Shoemaker was a hard working citizen, known for his honesty and integrity.
Interment was in the Essex Cemetery.
