Phyllis L. Croyle, 84, formerly of Fellowship Manor, Grove City and Kittanning, died Monday, Sept. 26, 2011, at VNA Inpatient Unit, Butler, due to four year extended illness. She was born Feb. 20, 1927, in Red Bank Township, Clarion County, a daughter of Norman M. Brocious and Vernie E. Young Brocious. Phyllis married Cecil H. "Hud" Croyle on Sept. 28, 1947, and he died on Jan. 11, 1991. She retired from Sheetz, Grove City, where she was the coffee hostess and was known to many customers as "Gram." She enjoyed her work at Sheetz and liked seeing the customer and co-workers daily. Prior to Sheetz, Phyllis worked at the McDonalds restaurant, London, Springfield Township. She was a member of First Church of God, Grove City. Phyllis enjoyed people. Her family and she was an avid Steelers fan and enjoyed NASCAR. Survivors include her three daughters, Marilyn "Myke" Croyle Skursky and husband, Joe, of Shelocta, Sheryl Shea, of Manorville, and Kathy Hinds and husband, Jim, of Grove City; one son, Joseph Cassidy and wife, Jean, of Hollidaysburg; one sister, Twilia Stitt, of New Bethlehem; one sister-in-law, Betty Brocious, of Kittanning; 16 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, five sisters and eight brothers. Friends will be received from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and 10 until the time of services at 11 a.m. Thursday in the CUNNINGHAM FUNERAL HOME INC., 306 Bessemer Ave., Grove City, Pastor Amy Worline, Associate Pastor of First Church of God, officiating. Burial at Lawn Haven Burial Estates, Worthington. In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes in Phyllis' memory may be made to VNA Inpatient Hospice, 115 Technology Drive, Butler, PA 16001.
