WILBURT PURRINGTON, WINDOM
Wilburt John Purrington, 81, of Windom, died Tuesday, Sept. 5, 1995, at his home in Windom. Born Feb 22, 1914, in Cottonwood County, he was the son of William and Emma Paulson Purrington. He married Violet Olson June 21, 1969. She died Oct. 31, 1992. He attended public schools in Windom and graduated from Windom High School in 1932. In 1925, the family moved from Windom to Sargeant. He returned to Windom in 1927. He served in the U.S. Army from 1941 to 1945 and was discharged following World War II. He returned to Windom where he was employed for 34 years at the Windom Ready Mix plant. He retired in 1981. He was a member of the American Lutheran Church, Windom. Surviving are one stepson, Bruce Olson, Windom, one stepdaughter, Shannon Wylie, Inver Grove Heights; one brother, Lowell Purrington, Windom; three sisters, Mrs. Wilma (Robert) Kissner, Jeffers, Mrs. (Doris) George Bakalyar, Windom, and Mrs. Dorothy (Mervin) Carlblom, Windom; three step grandchildren; and five step great-grandchildren. -- Windom Citizen
