JONESBOROUGH - Vestal Lee Bailey, 73, of Roy Phillips Road, Jonesborough, died Monday at Johnson City Medical Center.

He was a native of Washington County and a son of the late Arcemus and Mamie Edwards Bailey.

He was a retired carpenter and superintendent with Burleson Construction Co.

Mr. Bailey was a member of Limestone Free Will Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife: Mildred Bailey; two sons and a daughter-in-law: Marion Lee Bailey and Donnie and Jane Bailey, all of Limestone; one daughter and son-in-law: Phyllis Jean and Dexter Brummitt of Elizabethton; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two brothers: Harvey Bailey of Johnson City and Winfred Bailey of Limestone; three sisters: Anza Hall of Chuckey, Mary Crane of Johnson City, and Arlene Mitchell of Limestone; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a brother: Fred Bailey; and two sisters: Anna Mae Hensley and Bethel Arrowood.

The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Thursday at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home in Jonesborough.

The funeral service will follow visitation at 8 o'clock in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Dexter Brummitt, the Rev. Garry Edwards, and the Rev. Alfred Cutshall officiating.

A graveside service will be held at 11 o'clock Friday morning in Limestone FWB Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Eugene Miller, Daniel Bailey, Donald Shepard, Steve Hartley Jr., John Brummitt, and Jared Brummitt.
