Harvey Bailey - JOHNSON CITY
Mr. Harvey A. Bailey, 91, Johnson City, TN, died Wednesday, January 21, 2009, at Johnson City Medical Center after a brief illness.
Mr. Bailey was born in Madison County, NC, and was a son of the late Acemus and Mamie Edwards Bailey. He was also preceded in death by his 1st wife Mildred Bearfield Bailey and his 2nd. wife Zora Rowe Bailey; 2 brothers Vestal Bailey and Fred Bailey and 3 sisters Ana Mae Hensley, Bethel Arrowood and an infant sister.
Mr. Bailey retired from Empire Furniture Company with other 30 years of employment. Mr. Bailey was of the Baptist faith. He was a loving brother and uncle. He loved reading his bible and read it through several times.
Surviving: 3 sisters Anza Hall, Limestone, Mary J. Crane, Johnson City and Arlene Mitchell and husband McKinley, Bowmantown; a brother Winfred Bailey, Limestone and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service for Mr. Harvey A. Bailey will be 2:00 pm Friday, January 23, 2009, at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Maurice Quillen officiating. Music will be provided by his nieces and nephews. Graveside service will follow in Monte Vista Burial Park.
Pallbearers will be nephews.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 pm Thursday, January 22, 2009, and other times at his home. The family wishes to express a special thank you to the staff of 5400 of the Johnson City Medical Center.
