Roy H. Shoemaker, Feb. 21, 1910 - Aug. 2, 1999
Roy Herbert SHOEMAKER, 89, Argos, died 12:17 p.m. Monday at Pilgrim Manor Nursing Home, Plymouth.
Born to Clifford and Nettie CHAPMAN SHOEMAKER in Kosciusko County, he married Hazel Irene SNYDER on Nov. 14, 1931 in Plymouth. She died July 4, 1990.
Mr. Shoemaker was a farmer and a member of First Baptist Church, Mentone.
Survivors include one daughter, Marilyn and husband Charles WINTER, Sunnyside, Wash.; five sons and their spouses, Gerald and Doris [SHOEMAKER] and George and Carol SHOEMAKER, all of Argos, Harold and Sandra SHOEMAKER, Uniontown, Pa., Russell and Launa SHOEMAKER, Midland City, Ala., and Stephen and Shirley SHOEMAKER, Booneville; 17 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter, one brother, Carl SHOEMAKER, California.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Fern SWIHART, and six brothers, Lee [SHOEMAKER], Raymond [SHOEMAKER], Claude [SHOEMAKER], Howard [SHOEMAKER], Donald [SHOEMAKER] and Ralph [SHOEMAKER].
Services are 10 a.m. Friday at Grossman Funeral Home, Argos. Burial will be in Walnut Brethren Cemetery, southeast of Argos. Friends may call 4-8 p.m. Thursday or an hour before services on Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimers Association.
