Fern SWIHART, 78, 6050, Indiana 110, Argos, died at 9:24 p.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Hospital, Plymouth.

Born to Clifford and Nettie CHAPMAN SHOEMAKER in Fulton County, she married Robert L. SWIHART on Dec. 10, 1939. He survives.

She was a lifelong resident of the Fulton County area, and attended the First Baptist Church, Mentone. She was a homemaker.

Surviving with her husband are three sons, James SWIHART and his wife Mary, Rochester, Earl SWIHART and his wife, Sandra, Bourbon, Charles SWIHART and his wife Vicki, Rochester; one daughter, Mrs. John (Julia) BAKER, Warsaw; two brothers, Roy SHOEMAKER, Argos, Carl SHOEMAKER, Calif.; 11 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death are six brothers, and one grandson.

Services are 10:30 a.m. Monday at King Memorial Home. Mentone. Rev. Joe OLSON will officiate. Visitation is from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Sunday. Burial is at the Walnut Church of the Brethren Cemetery, South East of Argos.
Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church library, Mentone.
