Catherine R. Dasch was born on April 17, 1925 to Brownie Lee (Cooper) and William Evert Roberts in Oil City, LA. As a young girl, her family moved to Jennings, LA in which she grew up and went to school. She worked for her mother in a café across from the Old Jennings High School and met her future husband, Lester W. Dasch, while working at the café. She married Lester in 1945 after he returned from overseas during WWII. Catherine worked in various jobs in her life in the Jennings area. In the 1960's, she worked for Jeff Davis Community Action Program. In the 1970's, she became a real estate broker and started her own real estate company in Jennings unitl her retirement in 2001. She continued to work as an Adopted Grandmother at the local schools, where she enjoyed working with children. She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and the Ladies Aid Group at Immanuel Lutheran Church. Catherine enjoyed fellowship with friends and family. She loved to attend Jeff Davis Council on Aging in the mornings and visit with her friends at LeBelle Femme Dress Shop. Up to the last moments of her life with her body in pain, she was joking with her family and staff members. She loved being with her family members and helping others.

Catherine entered eternal life and was greeted with open arms by those family members that preceded her: her husband, Lester W. Dasch, mother, Brownie Cooper Roberts, her father, William Evert Roberts, brother, Walter Dupree, son, Robert Lee Dasch and three grandchildren, Jared Nabours, Robert Nabours and Tristen Dasch.

Those left to cherish her memory include Bill Dasch and wife Sheila of Fort Worth, TX, Debbie Dasch Nabours of Lebleu Settlement, Darla Personey and husband Glenn of Wichita, Kansas, Andy Dasch and wife Dianne of Lake Charles, Amy Presley and husband Brian of Jennings, her brother, Ray Dupree of Florida and brother Clyde Wilder and wife Kat of Lafayette.

Her eight precious grandchildren, Scott Dasch and wife Sandy, Sheri Pierce and husband Dell Ray Jeremy Allen, Taylor Dasch, Jaime Nabours, Ashley Personey, Cameron Presley and Chelsea Presley; five precious great-grandchildren, Justin Dasch, Lexi Nabours, Emily Nabours, Kristen Pierce and Kaitlyn Pierce.

Catherine's celebration of life service will be held Tuesday, September 20, 2011 at 11:00 am at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Jennings. Visitation with family members will be held from 4 – 8 pm Monday at Miguez Funeral Home in Jennings; and Tuesday from 9 – 11 am at Immanuel Lutheran Church.

Burial will be held at Greenwood Cemetery.
