Alma was born December 12, 1934 in Harvey, ND, the daughter of John and Katie (Wagner) Faul, Jr. She was raised and educated in the Manfred and Harvey area.
On April 28, 1952 Alma married Ralph "Peanuts" Kunnanz in Rugby, ND. They moved to Minot in 1955 where they raised their three children. Alma worked in the cafeteria at Bishop Ryan High School for several years and also helped her husband Ralph manage the family business, Broadway Body Shop. Ralph died on July 5, 2002.
Alma was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of Little Flower Catholic Church, Minot and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed summers at the cabin at Strawberry Lake. Spending time with all her grandchildren was her greatest joy, watching her grandchildren play hockey and baseball. Alma was an excellent cook and enjoyed cooking all the German dishes for her family. She loved playing bingo and enjoyed going to Lydia's Café for coffee. In earlier years she enjoyed gardening.
Survivors: Children, Dennis (Ladine) Kunnanz, Edmond, OK, LaVonne (Don) Boughey, Longmont, CO, and Thomas (Laurie) Kunnanz, Minot; eight grandchildren, Jason (Meagan) Kunnanz, Greg (Debbie) Kunnanz, Dustin (Krystal) Kunnanz, Derek Boughey, Amanda Boughey, Reed, Shane and Peder Kunnanz; five great-grandchildren, Cole, Rory and Callie Kunnanz, Alexsis and Alyssa Wood; sisters, Elizabeth Werth, Minot and Delores (Ruben) Lindeman, Rugby; brothers, Phillip (Bonnie) Faul, Harvey and Terry (Betty) Faul, Minot; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins survive.
Alma was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Kunnanz; her parents, John and Katie Faul; brothers, Arnie Faul, George Faul and infant brother, Elmer Faul; sister, Irene Almer.
