Terry Faul, 75, Minot, ND, formerly of Harvey, ND, passed away Thursday, May 4, 2017, in a Minot care center.

Terry was born November 12, 1941, the son of John Jr. and Katie (Wagner) Faul, in Harvey, ND. He was raised in rural Harvey, where he attended the country school.

Terry met his future wife, Elizabeth "Betty" Haugen when Terry's brother, Phillip, dated and then married Betty's sister, Bonnie. Terry and Betty also went on to marry on April 2, 1967 in Harvey, ND. They made their home in Harvey and from this union, five children were born: Becky, Darla, Terry, Stacey and Melodi.

The family moved to Conrad, MT for some time before moving back to Minot in 1971, where they continued to live until the time of Terry's passing.

Terry attended technical school in Bismarck, ND for Welding in 1968. He worked for the Burlington Northern Railroad from 1974-1983, and worked for Minot Chrysler as a Transporter for 25 years; from 1990 until his retirement in 2015.

Terry's years with Minot Chrysler took him, and often Betty too, all over the country including: ND, SD, MT, MN, CO, NV, CA and FL. The couple would always try to visit as many racetracks during their travels as possible.

Terry was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church of Minot, the Moose Club and the 515 Club. He was also a member of the Nodak Race Club, where he started out as a crew chief for his friend, Mylon Ash. He then went on to be a driver himself for a number of years. Once Terry's son was old enough to begin racing, Terry enjoyed training and working with him as well. Terry eventually retired to the stands, where he enjoyed watching his son, grandsons and granddaughter race; three generations of proud racers.

Terry and Betty enjoyed their time together fishing, bowling, playing pinochle, bingo and spending their Sundays with the family at the racetrack. Terry also enjoyed working on racecars, storm chasing, attending Minot State University basketball and softball games with his brother-in-law Ralph, and teaching his children and grandchildren how to play pinochle.

Surviving family includes:
Wife of 50 years, Betty Faul, Minot; children, Becky (Alan) Medler, Darla Faul, Terry (Tammie Mack) Faul, Stacey Greene and Melodi Yoney, all of Minot; grandchildren, Nathan (Ashley) Medler, Justin (Taylor Hanna) Medler, Darren (Brooke Walter) Medler, Courtney Greene, Katie (Philip) Kampman, McKenzi Faul and Kayla Behnkie; great-grandchildren, Kinsley Medler, Bryce Medler and Kendra Medler; sister, Delores (Reuben) Lindeman, Harvey; sisters-in-law, Lillie Ann (Ron) Randa, Mandan and Evangeline Faul, CA; former son-in-law, Karry Greene, Minot; former daughter-in-law, Stacy Weltikol, Sawyer; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Terry was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Arne, George, Phillip and infant Elmer Faul; sisters, Irene Almer, Elizabeth Werth and Alma Kunnanz; parents-in-law, John and Mildred Bachmeier; brother-in-law, Steven Bachmeier; and beloved dog, Jinx.
