Mrs. Bertha Reinke, 92, died early Tuesday afternoon after a protracted illness. A native of Manitowoc County, she was born June 15, 1871, at Newton, a daughter of the late William and Margaret Grosshuesch. She attended district school and was confirmed at the Newton Reformed Church in 1885. Following her marriage to Edwin Franz of the Town of Herman on April 9, 1897, she made her home in Manitowoc. He died Aug. 21, 1904. She married William Reinke of the Town of Herman on Nov. 18, 1905. The couple operated several farm in the area until the late 1920's when they retired and moved to Sheboygan. Mr. Reinke died June 28, 1929. Mrs. Reinke was a member of Ebenezer United Church of Christ and the Ladies Aid Society of the church.
Survivors are two sons, Oscar Franz of Sheboygan and the Rev. Calvin Franz of Genesee, Ill., nine grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. William Gaterman, and Mrs. Robert Scheffler, Manitowoc, and Mrs. Edward Werner and Mrs. John Krueger, Milwaukee, and a brother, Otto Grosshuesch of Manitowoc. Three sons also preceded her in death.
