Emma Lechlitner Berkey was born Sept. 19, 1868, near Wakarusa, Elkhart Co., Ind. Died March 17, 1911, at her home one mile west of town, aged 42 years, 5 months and 28 days.
She was married to Aaron Berkey April 16, 1887. To this union was born eleven children, two of which preceded her to the spirit world.
In the year 1892 she gave her heart to Jesus, and with her husband united with the Mennonite church where she remained a faithful member until death. She leaves to mourn her departure a sorrowing husband, 9 children, 3 grandchildren, 4 brothers, 4 sisters and a host of relatives and friends.
Funeral services were conducted March 19 at the Olive church by David Yoder and Silas Weldy, text. Rev. 1-18.
