OBITUARY :
MISS AMY ELIZABETH BACHTELL, 79, formerly of Edgemont, died at 5:15 p.m. Thursday at the Jackson Convalescent Home.

She was born at Edgemont, the daughter of the late Tracy and Amanda Stouffer Bachtell. She had lived at Edgemont until 10 years ago and had since then resided with her brother Elmer P. Bachtell at 133 Broadway.

On Feb. 13 she fell, fracturing her right hip and was admitted to the Jackson Convalescent Home. After six months she was discharged and lived with her sister Mrs. Maude E. Smith at 105 Cypress St., Hagerstown. On Oct. 20 she was again admitted to the home.

She was a lifelong member of the St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Greensburg, and the ladies aid society.

She is survived by a brother and two sisters, Elmer P. Bachtell, Mrs. Maude E. Smith, both of Hagerstown and Mrs. Nora B. Bowman of Chewsville, also a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday from St. Paul's Lutheran Church at Greensburg with the Rev. Robert D. Hyson officiating. Burial in the Smithsburg Cemetery.

Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Saturday at the Grove Funeral Home in Waynesboro and at the church Sunday from 1 p.m. until the hour of service. Contributions may be made to the church building fund.
