DOYLESTOWN - Arlene M. Galehouse, age 88, passed away July 7, 2011. She was born on January 12, 1923 in Barberton to Chester L. and Esther (Snyder) Smith. A life resident of Doylestown, she was a homemaker most of her life and had worked at Yoder Brothers. A member of the Doylestown United Methodist Church for 55 years, Arlene belonged to the church choir, Wingettes Book Club, Baughman Grange 2114, Pomona, State, and National Grange. Preceded in death by her parents; she is survived by her husband of 66 years, Fred; son, Rick (Sue) Galehouse of Doylestown; daughters, Marjorie (Dave) Pond of Mansfield, Linda Galehouse of Doylestown; grandchildren, Tim (Anne) Pond, Mike (Paige) Pond, Matt (Laura) Pond, Hannah and Sarah Galehouse; great grandchildren, Carter and Emily Pond; brothers, Melvin Smith of Wadsworth, Kenneth (Mary Lee) Smith of Norton, Del (Helen) Smith of NC. The family wishes to thank the staff at Doylestown Health Care and Fresenius Dialysis Center for their care of Arlene. Funeral service will be Monday, July 11, 2011 at 11 a.m. at the Doylestown United Methodist Church, 153 Church St., Doylestown, 44230, with Pastor Dale Warrick, officiating. Burial at Chestnut Hill Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday from 3-6 p.m. at the Zak-Thacker & Monbarren Funeral Home, 132 N.
