Geneva May "Gini" Davis of Scio died Friday at her home. She was 80
Mrs. Davis was born in Bartholomew County, Ind., the daughter of John and Sarah (Imlay) Acton. She was raised in Indiana and graduated from Columbus High School in 1940. She married Warren Davis on March 17, 1956 in Burbank, Calif.

After receiving her bachelors and masters degree in education from California State University at Northridge, Mrs. Davis taught elementary school in Simi Valley for 10 years. In 1982, the couple moved to their Scio area home and has resided there since.
She attended Lacomb Baptist church and enjoyed reading the Bible and praying for family and friends. She was also fond of gardening, bird watching, nature walking, picking berries to make jelly and jam, and being with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Warren of Scio, sons Rick O'Day of Chatsworth, Calif. and Dave Davis of Lebanon; daughter Linda Boyajean of Larimore, N.D.; brothers Marshal Acton and Mark Acton of Columbus, Ind; sisters Ellen Hill of El Monte, Calif, Ramona Rouzaud of Las Vegas, Mary Alyce Isadore of Juneau, Alaska, Lynn Christie of N. Hollywood, Calif., and Susian Spurgeon of Columbus, Ind.; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Two brothers and one great-granddaughter preceded her in death

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Lacomb Baptist Church with Pastor Steve Dahrens officiating. Private burial will be in Providence Cemetery. Huston-Jost Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
