Woodrow W. Jacobs taught American History Northside High School, Jackson TN at his death at the age of 55. Prior to becoming a principal he taught in various locales including Wilson and Tyronza AR and Hardeman county TN.
Woodrow Jacobs served as a Lieutenant in the 79th Infantry Division in WWII and was wounded near La-Haye-du-Puits during the Normandy Invasion. He received a Bronze Star as well as a Purple Heart.
His son W. Dennis Jacobs, who is also buried at Ridgecrest, was curator of primates at the Memphis Zoo and Aquarium during his lifetime.
