He lived also in Carrollton, Carroll county MS briefly with his second wife Banena Ferguson but moved back to Hardeman county due to boll weevil infestations in cotton crop.
According to his WWI draft card his middle name was actually Leondas which is an alternate spelling of Leonidas, the Greek king of Thermopylae fame.
