John Baumhofer passed away at his home in Millerville township November 11 at the age of 66 years, 9 months and 17 days. He was born in Shakopee, Minn., January 24, 1893.
He was united in marriage to Tekla Turchin at Millerville and surviving are his wife and nine children: Dorothy, Verona and Lucy of St. Paul, Frank, John and Henry, Ann and Francis (Mrs. LeRoy Lang) at home, and Clara (Mrs. Ernest Carlson) of Evansville. There are also three grandchildren, and the following brothers and sisters: Matt Baumhofer and Mrs. Julia Peterson of Belfor, N.D., Mrs. John Turchin of Evansville, Mrs. Katherine Noll of Roscow and Mrs. Mike Hiltner of Freeport. One sister, one brother and one half sister and two half brothers have preceded him in death.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, November 14, at 9:00 o'clock from the Baumhofer home and at 9:30 from St. Mary's church in Millerville; Father Wilkes officiating. Interment took place in St. Mary's cemetery. The pallbearers were Matt Boesen, Steve Dorsch, Leo Stich, Pete Bitzan, Anton Bitzan, Albert Bitzan. Nick Turchin was cross bearer.
