Court Confirms Award Gives Matron for Husband's Death. An award of $4800 to Mrs. Anna Baumhofer, Spokane. against the Hecla Mining company has been affirmed by District Judge A. H. Featherstone at Wallace. Chris Baumhofer, her husband, wan killed In the Hecla mine on February 18, 1924, by falling down a shaft. The industrial accident board awarded this amount from which the Hecla Mining company appealed on the grounds that Baumhofer was not Pursuing his work when killed, as he had no business around the shaft. The award was reviewed before the three commissioners of the board and affirmed, and carried to the district Court by the Hecla company.

Court Upholds Board's Decision in Mining Case
BOISE, Idaho-Award of $4800 compensation and $200 medical fees was announced by the state industrial accident board for the death of Chris Baumhofer, Burke, who lost his life as a result of a fall down a shaft at the Hecla mine. The case was appealed from the decision of the board to the first judicial court, where the board sustained and final decree entered. The widow, the claimant in the case, sustained the burden of of the proof that the deceased met with personal injury arising in the course of his employment.
