Joseph Greer was young when his father settled in Canada, and he in time engaged in farming, after removing to Lanesboro, MN, and still later to Clear Lake, IA, where he died. In religion he was in youth a Presbyterian, but in after-life changed to the Methodist Episcopal Church.
The Greer family settled in Sherrington in the Chateauguay Valley. Joseph listed his occupation as yeoman. He met and married Jane Burns in Canada. They had 12 children. In November 1938 Joseph was part of the Hemmingford Volunteers, 2nd Company. Eventually, they moved to Lanesboro, Filmore Co., MN. He was 70 years old when he died in Clear Lake, IA while visiting his daughter. Stone reads: "Happy soul thy days are ended, all they mourning days below. Go by angel bands attended to the sight of Jesus, go." Father of twelve.
