The following obituary was published on January 8, 1985 in the Rosenberg Herald-Coaster Newspaper:

WARD

Funeral services for Sidney Ward, 65, of Rosenberg, will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday at the chapel of Davis-Dawson Funeral Home in Rosenberg. Burial will be at Greenlawn Memorial Park.

Ward died Tuesday morning at Memorial-Southwest Hospital in Houston after a brief illness.

He was a veteran of World War II, serving in England. After his discharge, he returned to Rosenberg and was a butcher by trade. He owned and operated Sid Ward's Home Lockers and later Sid Ward's Dairy Barn before retiring after he sold the business.

He was a member of First Christian Church in Rosenberg.

Survivors include his wife, Moira Ward; four daughters, Mary Wix of Wallis, Becky Dannhaus and Linda Knesek, both of Rosenberg, and Beverly Pollock of Richmond; a brother, Dr. W. W. Ward of San Antonio; and seven grandchildren.

Friends may call at the Davis Funeral Home after 5 p.m. Tuesday. The family suggests memorials be made to First Christian Church, Rosenberg.
