Mrs. Burtts, 68,
Dies Wednesday

Mrs. Charles (Shirley) E. Burtts, 68, 321 S 10th St, Bismarck, died Wednesday at Bismarck Hospital where she had been a patient for two days.

Funeral services will be held at 9:30 am Saturday at St. Mary's Church, Bismarck, with the Rev. Donald Hill officiating.

Mrs. Burtts was born Feb. 27, 1903 at Ft. Rice to Sherman and Nellie (Clark) Suverly. She married Charles H. Burtts Aug. 11, 1927 at Selby, SD. In 1939, she moved from Emmons County to Bismarck and had lived there since. Her husband preceded her in death in 1969. She was a member of St. Mary's Church.

Surviving are her children, Joseph Fogarty, a stepson, in Newberg, OR; Mrs. Ben (Violet) Clooten; Mrs. Arlen (Judy) Bailey; William, George, and Charles, all of Bismarck; Mrs. George (Lorraine) Clooten of Oregon City, OR; Mrs. George (Ruth) Snyder of Newberg, OR; Mrs. Joseph (Harriet) Schantz of Naches, WA; Clarence Burtts of Derby, KS; Mrs. Lowell (Jean) Knowlen of Pierre, SD; and Mrs. Ralph (Arlene) Auch of Orangevale, CA; 52 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.

She is also survived by 3 brothers, George Suverly of Dundee, OR; Earl Suverly of Bismarck, ND; and William Suverly of Portland, OR; and a sister, Mrs. Olive Wuertz of Yakima, WA.

A rosary will be said at 7:30 pm Friday at the Hall Funeral Chapel.

Burial will be made in St. Mary's Cemetery.
