Clarence C. Burtts, 69, Linton, died May 4, 2002 in the Linton Hospital.

Clarence C. Burtts was born in Solen, North Dakota to Charles H. Burtts and Shirley (Suverly) Burtts. Clarence served in the United States Army during the Korean conflict. After returning from Korea, he married Helena Ardella (Bachmeier) Burtts on March 22, 1954. Clarence decided to leave the U.S. Army and re-enlist in the U.S. Air Force. He retired in 1971, after 21 years of faithful service to his country. After his retirement, he continued working until his return to Linton, North Dakota to pursue his love of fishing and hunting.

Clarence is survived by his wife Helena; 3 sons, Charles Hurbert Burtts of Linton, ND, Clarence A. and Brenda J. (Reynolds-Lammon) Burtts of Nixa, MO, 2 step-grandchildren, Wade and Chad Lammon, his youngest son William and wife Cynthia K. (Sartori) Burtts, and 2 very special grandchildren Madison and Max Burtts of Vandenberg AFB, CA. He is also survived by 11 step great-grandchildren, 2 brothers, Joe Fogarty of Newberg, OR and William Burtts of Hazelton, ND, and 3 sisters, Ruth (Snyder) of Newberg, OR, Arlene (Auch) of Grangeville, CA, and Judy (Bailey) of Mandan, ND.

Clarence was preceded in death by his parents and 11 brothers and sisters.

Funeral Services Wednesday, May 8, 2002, at 10:00 am, at Glencoe Presbyterian Church, Glencoe, ND, with the Reverend Frederick Henkelmann officiating.

Casket Bearers were Charles H. Burtts, Clarence A. Burtts, William Burtts, William Burtts, Arlen Bailey, and Dwayne Clooten.
