Business Magnate. Mr. Walker co-founded the St. Louis-based Ely & Walker Dry Goods Company in 1878. At one time it was one of the two largest dry goods companies in the United States. One of Walker's sons was George Herbert Walker. His daughter, Dorothy, met her future husband Prescott Bush in St. Louis. In 1924 the Bushes' second son, future President George Herbert Walker Bush, was named after Dorothy's father. The name continues with President Bush's son, President George Walker Bush.
