A mass of Catholic burial will be held on Saturday, December 20, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church for Annie Louise Alleman LaPoint age 70 whose faith filled life ended on December 17, 2008.
The Very Rev. Monsignor Russell J. Harrington pastor of Our Lady of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Mire, LA will be celebrant of the funeral mass. Readers will be Sue Matthieu and Michelle Truxillo.

A native of Carencro and resident of Mire, Annie led her life with many challenges, but always seemed to do so with grace. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She lived her Catholic faith to the fullest, and was filled with faith and courage.

Annie leaves to bear witness her life, her devoted husband of fifty-four years, Stanley J. LaPoint, her four children, Steven J. LaPoint and his wife, Sue, of Spring, TX, Connie Petro and her husband, Joe, of Lafayette, Karen Mire and her husband, Erick, of Mire and Scott J. LaPoint of Scott; three sisters, Viola Trahan, Bernida Cormier and Theresa Langlinais; one brother, Ovide Alleman and his wife, Peggy; eight grandchildren, Amy LaPoint Engel and her husband, Matt, Sarah LaPoint Strass, Jr. and her husband, Arnold, Jennifer Mire Rock and her husband, Edric, Annie Mire LeBlanc and her husband, Joshua, Andrew Mire, Lindsey Petro, Christine, Luke and Katharine Mire; eight great grandchildren, Sean, Shane, Seth and Steven Strass, Connor, Zackary, Ethan and Michaela Rock; numerous nieces and nephews; and a large extended family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Alcide & Arthemise Alleman; two brothers, Bennette Reed and Joseph Eugene Alleman; and her father and mother in law, Milton and Jeanne LaPoint.

Her Pallbearers will be Steven J. LaPoint, Joseph S. Petro, III, Erick Mire, Jr., Andrew Mire, Russell Reed and Ronald Cormier.

Melancon Funeral Home, Evangeline Memorial Gardens Chapel, 4117 N. University Ave., Carencro, Louisiana was in charge of arrangements.
