Anna's marriage license shows her maiden name as Williams. I have not been able to find a Williams or Pilling in Kendalltown on the 1860 or 1870 census records.

Mrs. Anna E. Pilling Doan
Anna E. Pilling Doan, wife of W.M. Doan, was born in Kendalltown, Wisconsin, August 8, 1862 and passed away May 17, 1927, at 7:30 pm, aged 64 years.
Into this home five children were born. Two, a son and a daughter, preceded their mother in death. The son died in the service of this country during the World War.
The surviving are the following; her husband; two sons, George of Dixon and Jasper of Mineral Point, Wis.; one daughter, Mrs. Chesmore of Mowbridge, S.D.; five grandchildren, and a number of other relatives.
The funeral was conducted from the late home, 223 East Eighth St. on Tuesday afternoon at 2:30. Pastor S.B. Quincer of the Bethel United Evangelical Church Officiating.
