The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Monday at United Methodist Church, Shumway, with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Brummerstedt Funeral Home, Stewardson. Memorials may be made to the United Methodist Church, Shumway.
Mrs. Bock was born Jan. 1, 1916, the daughter of Frank and Ida (Bailey) Koontz. She married Frank Bock on Sept. 21, 1935, Louisville. He died in 1987.
She was a cook at Shumway Grade School for many years and was a member of the Shumway United Methodist Church and the Ladies Mission of United Methodist Church of Shumway. She was a good friend and encouraged family and friends and helped all she met.
She enjoyed her many travels with her family. She was a great gardener and loved her flowers. She was a strong supporter of her community and spearheaded the Christmas decoration for Plumb Park in Shumway. She was never a stranger to anyone and encouraged her family to pursue their education and musical talents. She was a strong supporter of her community, church and country and believed that each person should see to it that "things worked" in the world.
Surviving are her daughters, Ida (husband, Richard) Donald-son, Nina (husband, Charles) Kline of Beecher City, Hilda (husband, Edwin) Kissel of California; son, C.F. Corky (wife, Ann) Bock of Shumway; grandchildren, Brad Donaldson and Steve Donaldson of Beecher City, Lisa Donaldson Walk of Mattoon, Nancy Donaldson Spencer of Pana, Roberta Farris of Texas, Philip Kissel of California, Gail Pruden of Utah, Andrew Kissel and Charles Kissel of California, Heidi Ohnesorge of Altamont, Frank Bock of Effingham, Kelly Ward of Effingham, Allison Hoyt of Algonquin, Peter Ferguson of Springfield, Jeff and Gregg Kline of Beecher City; great-grandchildren, Jeremy Koberlein, Christin Walk, Brent, Adrian and Jessica Donaldson, Carmen, Heather and Tyson Spencer, Morgan, Lauren and Madison Ohnesorge, Nick, Matt, Mitch and Austin Kline and Alexandra Kline; close nieces and nephews; special neighbors; and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank F. Bock; daughter, Nancy Bock (husband, Glen) Ferguson of Springfield; two sisters; and one brother.
