After graduating from Beecher City High School in 1959, he moved for a short time to Chicago, Il to attend U of I at Navy Pier. He then attended college in Tulsa, OK, before moving to Southern California with his sister, Hilda Kissel and her family. There he started his sales career with Adohr Farms, moving then to Pepsi Co, PIE, Trans Con and finishing his career with ABF Trucking as Regional Sales Manager in Oakland, CA. After retirement in 2000, he returned back home with Ann to Shumway to be with family & friends. He was member of the Shumway United Methodist Church. Corky loved his family, spending time with people and telling stories, helping people, offering advice, handing out money to inspire the young generation to "do good." He enjoyed his retirement years investing in real estate and teaching the value of the almighty dollar. He had a gift of gab, sense of humor and interacted with people in the "Corky" way - He was one of a kind!
