Elliott Sparks

DINGLE--Elliott Boyd Sparks, 62, of Dingle, Idaho died Monday in Bear Lake Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Sparks was born in Dongle on Nov. 7, 1900, to John H. and Helen Wilcox Sparks. He lived there all of his life, where he farmed and was employed by Cecil Quayle until he retired in 1960.

He was an active member of the LDS Church, served in all organizations, acting as ward teacher and secretary of the elders quorum.

He was married to Mona Nowland Sept. 14, 1922 in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. The couple had 11 children.

Besides his mother, Mrs. Helen Esterholdt of Dingle, he is survived by the following children: Mrs. Doneal Johnson of Ovid; Eliot Eugene Sparks of Dingle; Mrs. Keith Koeven of Dingle; Deon Boyd Sparks of Montpelier; Mardell Nolan Sparks of Orem, Utah; John William Sparks of Soda Springs; Allen Dale Sparks, Georgia Sparks, Sandra Sparks, and Darla Sparks, all of Dingle.

Brothers and sisters surviving include Walter Sparks of Salt Lake City; William Sparks and Emmett Sparks, both of Dingle; John R. Sparks of Vacaville, Calif.; Mrs. Art Burckhart of Salt Lake City; Mrs. Marshall Bateman of Montpelier; Mrs. Harry Linde of Pocatello; Mrs. Darrell Keetch of Wardboro; and Mrs. Donald Swa of Boise; three half-brothers, Marvin Sparks of Montpelier and Melvin Sparks and Ed Sparks both of Salt Lake City. Also surviving are 14 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 1 p.m., in the Dingle Ward Chapel. Friends may call at the Matthews Mortuary Chapel in Montpelier tonight and at the chapel in Dingle Thursday until time of service.
