Deon Boyd Sparks passed away at home, Tuesday evening, May 22, 2007 surrounded by his loving family. Deon fought a long illness courageously. Born in 1935 to Elliot and Mona Sparks.

He married Peggy Hinman in 1955. They were later divorced. He married Gloria Topham in 1989 and they spent happy years together traveling and enjoying family and friends.

Deon had a wonderful sense of humor and was loved by all. A hard worker, he was employed at Stauffer Chemical and Geneva Steel. He had many hobbies and was good at what he did.

He is survived by his wife Gloria; three children, Boyd (Sue) Sparks; Shona (Gene) Siems; Helen Sparks; stepson, Dan (Jan) Topham; 9 grandchildren; 5 step grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; and 4 step great grandchildren. He is also survived by four sisters, JoAn (Kieth) Koven; Georgia Lanham; Darla (Lynn) Lloyd; Sandra (Paul) Hartley; three brothers, Rusty Sparks; Allen Sparks; Mardell (Dixie) Sparks. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Clyde Sparks; stepson, Lynn Topham; two sisters, Helen Sparks; Melba Johnson; and one brother, Jackie Sparks.
