Mrs. Albert Bowen Dies
Mrs. Albert E. (Mamie) Bowen, 83, resident of Estherville since 1935, died today about 5 a.m. at Holy Family Hospital. Her death was attributed to complications of advanced age.

The former Mamie May Scott was born July 24, 1880 at Coffeeville, Kan., the daughter of Andrew and Margaret Scott. She later moved with her parents to McCallsburg.

She lived in McCallsburg until her marriage on Oct. 14, 1900 to Albert E. Bowen. After their marriage Mr. and Mrs. Bowen lived in various places in Minnesota and Iowa before moving to Estherville in 1935.

Mrs. Bowen is survived by three sons, Clarence,Earl, Burtis Leroy and Leo Leland Bowen, all of Estherville; three grandchildren and a nephew, Earl W. Scott of Buffalo Center who made his home for many years with Mrs. Bowen and her son, Burtis, with whom she lived.

Funeral services will be held Friday at Reese Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Rawlin Johnson officiating. Burial will be in East Side cemetery. Friends may call at the Reese Funeral Home from noon Thursday until time of services on Friday. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, September 4, 1963)
