Estherville – Services for B.L. (Roy) Bowen, 74, Estherville, will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Henry and Olson Funeral Home, Estherville, with the Rev. James Harmon officiating. Interment will be in East Side Cemetery.

Mr. Bowen died Sunday at Holy Family Hospital, Estherville.

He was born Jan. 24, 1904, at Dows, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Bowen. He attended schools in the Dows area and worked at various jobs in the Dows area until 1937, when he moved to Estherville. Mr. Bowen worked for P.G. Gray and Company in Estherville for many years and also was a carpenter, building and remodeling houses. He was never married.

Mr. Bowen is survived by two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Mary Bowen, Estherville, and Mrs. James Bowen, Des Moines; two nephews; and one niece.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
