Elizabeth Faubion who died March 18, 1898, aged 81 years and 5 days, was born in East Tennessee March 18, 1817. Her parents Jessie and Mary McPike moved to Indiana in her ninth year. Indiana was at that time a wild wilderness. her parents settled three miles from where Heltonville now stands. She joined the M.E. Church in her eleventh year which was organized in her fathers house and where they had regular preaching for a number of years. She was a faithful and working member of the church of her choice. She died rejoicing in the religion in which she had so long lived.

She was married at an early age to William Faubion to whom were born eleven children. Five are dead and six living, three sons and three daughters. Dr. James Faubion was the oldest. There are 28 grand children and 13 great grand children. She had been a sufferer for a number of years with liver disease of which she died. She lived a widow 42 years.
