Mary Lucille Bittner, age 63, a longtime resident of Portage passed on Sunday, July 31, 2011. She was born on March 28, 1948 in Gary, Indiana, the daughter of Joseph and Thelma Denisiuk. Mary was married to John Francis Bittner, Jr. on April 24, 1965 at Saint Anne's Catholic Church and he preceded her in death on November 4, 2002. Mary enjoyed doing crafts, playing bingo, and loved to cook.

Mary is survived by her loving family; daughter Jean Bittner, Portage, son John (Wendy) Bittner, LaCrosse, grandchildren Brandon Starr, Hunter Duvall, Jason Gunter, and Rebekka Heater, great-grandchildren Sterling McMurray, Zander Heater, and Hemi Heater, sisters Clara Clark, Union, Missouri, twin sister Marlene (Kenneth) Spradlin, Portage, Patricia Walker, Gary, and Deborah (Phillip) Zedov, Portage, brother Michael Denisiuk, Michigan City, dear friends Dee Hutchinson, Breanna Villanueva, and Jim Fuller, beloved pets Dusty and Baby, and other loving family and dear friends. Mary was preceded in death by her father Joseph Denisiuk, and her mother Thelma Bittner, step-father John Bittner, Sr., her husband John Bittner, Jr., her son Jeffrey William Bittner, her sister Virginia Taylor, her brother Joseph Denisiuk, and her brother Earl Denisiuk.
