She was a daughter of Earl John and Ida Mae Clark Piper. She first married Joseph Denisiuk on September 11, 1939 in Derry, Pennsylvania and divorced April 1, 1965. They were the parents of 9 children. She married John Francis Bittner, Sr. on June 19, 1965 in Gary, Indiana. She was a waitress for a good portion of her life. And she was a Catholic throughout her life.

Age 73, of Portage, formerly of Gary and Lake Station, passed away at Hobart St Mary Medical Center, Thursday, March 17, 1994. She was a former employee of the Rondavoo Restaurant. She was preceded in death by her husbands Joseph Denisiuk and John F. Bittner, Sr., daughter, Virginia Taylor and son, Joseph Denisiuk. Surviving 5 daughters, Clara (Al) Clark of Union, MO, Mary (John)Bittner of Portage, Marlene (Kenneth) Spradlin of Hobart, Patricia (William) Walker of Portage, Deborah (Phil) Zedov of GA; 2 sons, Earl (Lynda) Denisiuk of GA, Michael (Lori) Denisiuk of Valparaiso; 4 brothers, Howard (Fran) Piper of Steubenville, Ohio; Kenneth (Gerri) Piper of Akron, Ohio; James (Dee) Piper of PA; Elmer (Sis) Piper of PA; 2 sisters, Carrie Uvena of PA, Joanne (Andrew) Baker of Blairsville, PA; many grandchildren, many great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Funeral services Monday, March 21, 1994, 1 p.m. at the Burns Funeral Home, corner of Rt. 51 & 7th St, Hobart, Ind. Rev. John Scott, officiating. Burial Calvary Cemetery, Portage, Ind. In lieu of flowers memorial tributes may be given to the family. Friends may call Sunday 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. at Burns Funeral Home, Hobart.
