Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Christ Lutheran Church in Jacob. Burial will be in Christ Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be after 4 p.m. Wednesday at Wilson's Funeral Home in Ava and from 9 to 10 a.m. Thursday at the church.
Mrs. Ahner was a retired nurse and a member of Ascension Lutheran Church in Huntsville, Ala.
She was born on April 4, 1928, in Gorham to Arthur and Mary (Schomber) Heins.
She married Herbert E. Ahner on April 23, 1946, in St. Louis, Mo. He preceded her in death on Nov. 16, 1958.
Survivors include one son, James H. Ahner of Twenty-nine Palms, Calif., one daughter, Kathy Simmons of Huntsville, Ala; five grandchildren; two sisters, Dorothy Rohlfing of Gorham and Margaret Heins of Murphysboro; and one brother, Robert Heins of Murphysboro.
Her parents, two brothers, Wilburn Corky Heins and Harry Heins, and one sister, Betty Suchman, preceded her in death.
